Inside Line Promotions – PETALUMA, Calif. (March 10, 2020) – Garet Williamson and the Bryant Paver Motorsports team are in the midst of the learning process required when running the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.

Williamson traveled to California last weekend, making his debut at Merced Speedway in Merced and Petaluma Speedway. He failed to qualify for either main event, but the team made gains the second night that will pay off as the season progresses.

“We struggled figuring out setups the first night and our last night we figured out what we had been chasing all weekend,” he said. “Things started clicking in the B Main, but it was too late to make anything really happen.”

Williamson placed seventh in his heat race and 12th in the second B Main at Merced Speedway last Friday. Saturday’s event at Placerville Speedway in Placerville rained out. Williamson showed improvement at Petaluma Speedway, ending ninth in a heat race before passing five cars in the first B Main to finish eighth.

It wasn’t the result Williamson wanted, but he also understands the gains his team made against a stacked field in one of the toughest 360ci sprint car regions in the country will help in the long run.

“It’s a huge learning curve,” the ASCS National Tour rookie said. “I think we have 12 sprint car starts as a team. We don’t have anyone with a ton of experience so it’s really a huge learning curve for us every night.”

The team will take this weekend off before venturing to Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas, on March 20-21 for the 47th annual Spring Nationals with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.

“I’m pumped up and ready to go,” he said. “We are going to get our new car ready and take it down to Devil’s Bowl. We are going to get both cars ready, go through everything and just fine tune and work on things we think we need to focus on as a team.”
