Belleville, IL. (3/6/2020) To be a champion in the POWRi Lucas Oil WAR Sprint League is no small task. To repeat as point’s champion is even more daunting. A feat first thought impossible, has now become a reality, as Warsaw, Missouri’s own Riley Kreisel can boast such accolades.
The competition level was beyond high in 2019, having over 150 separate entries - 12 different drivers wheeling their way into victory lane, as five motorists would gain their first-ever POWRi Lucas Oil WAR Sprint League Feature win. Towards the end of the season though, with the points chase for the top spot at an extremely narrow margin, Riley would rally with the championship prize on the line. Winning the hard-fought WAR Points battle, for the second time in as many years, by a mere eleven-point markers.
Riley Kreisel, driver of the Team DKR, Speedway Engine 410, XXX Chassis, Kreisel Racing, Advan-Tech Dyno-Service, Kreisel Farms, CertainTeed, Truman Lake Marine and Motorsports, WeatherTech Renovations, Reinhardt Express #91 from Warsaw, MO would wheel his way to three feature victories in 2019, besting the competition at Valley Speedway, Belle-Clair Speedway, and St. Francois County Raceway. Adding to his already impressive total win tally of six with the POWRi Lucas Oil WAR Sprint League, last season would see Riley tie for fourth in all-time WAR wins.
Claiming the crown in 2018 as the youngest ever POWRi Lucas Oil WAR Sprint League Champion, Kreisel would again attain the 2019 WAR Championship, becoming the first-ever to accomplish the bragging rights of being a back-to-back champion. As the 2020 season approaches with Team DKR venturing out with their own race team, can Kreisel continue to assert his position in the history books with an unparalleled third straight championship with the POWRi Lucas Oil WAR Sprint League?
