Inside Line Promotions – NORTH PORT, Fla. (Feb. 24, 2020) – Sams LaMountain Racing is venturing west this weekend to kick off its first season with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.
Danny Sams III knocked the rust off behind the wheel with a strong showing in his home state of Florida earlier this month in preparation for the ASCS National Tour doubleheader this Friday and Saturday at Canyon Speedway Park in Peoria, Ariz.
“I’m very excited,” he said. “I feel like East Bay was a good boost and we’ll be able to do some good things this year.”
While the races this weekend mark the furthest west of Texas that the team has competed, Sams III made quarter midget starts in Arizona several years ago. Despite the newness this weekend presents, the goal is to make each A Main and run in the top 10, Sams III stated.
“I feel pretty comfortable (racing at new tracks),” he said. “We’ll start with a baseline and see what changes need to be made.
“I want to thank the LaMountain Family as well as mine for the opportunity and hard work. We’ve been preparing for this moment to race with the ASCS National Tour and we’re looking forward to getting started this weekend in Arizona.”
