Megan Williams 22, of Kutztown, PA has been named Miss USAC East Coast for the 2020, Rapid Tire, USAC East Coast Sprint Car Series Season. Megan has a history in motorsports as her father has raced micro sprints, 410 Sprint cars and most recently 305 sprint cars.
Megan credits her fathers history in racing to where her passion and her desire to be involved in the motorsports industry has stemmed from. Her first race that she ever attended was at the Grandview Speedway when she was very young to watch her father race. Megan says she is extremely excited for the season to begin and to travel to a lot of new tracks during the 2020 season. She has never been to most of the tracks on the series schedule in 2020 and is looking forward to meeting new fans along the series trail.
Megan has expressed that she was interested in the position and series and wanted to be a part of the ever growing USAC East Coast Sprint Car Series, and to help to continue the growth that the series has experienced.
Ms. Williams is a college student at Kutztown University and is studying middle level education focusing on math and English and hopes to become a middle school math teacher post graduation.
When asked about what track she is most excited to get to for the 2020 season the answer was resounding for the Port Royal Speedway. Followed by a close second of the Grandview Speedway. Megan cited the speeds and the different surface that the Port Royal Speedway offers, and also the close tight knit action that is provided on the bull ring of the Grandview Speedway as the reasoning behind her answers.
While she does not have a favorite racing memory, she has a lot of fun going to different tracks with her dad when he is racing his 305 sprint car and making memories while they are at the track.
One other thing that Megan is looking forward to this season is the opportunity to meet young fans while holding the position of Miss USAC East Coast and the annual “kids night” that will occur once again at the Big Diamond Speedway on May 29th.
Fans can soon follow along with Megan and her travels as she will be creating a Facebook and Instagram page for the upcoming season in the coming days.
Megan will make her debut as Miss USAC East Coast at the series season opener on April 3rd at the Williams Grove Speedway.
