Inside Line Promotions – SEDALIA, Mo. (May 24) – Four.
It’s a significant number for Haley and Miranda Arnold, who have only been able to each race that many nights this season. However, that will hopefully double this weekend when they are scheduled to compete four consecutive nights throughout Kansas.
“Having all these races rained out, it’s making the season seem like it’s going really slow,” 16-year-old Miranda said. “We’re ready to go racing. But it also gives us time to prepare around the shop and get things ready.”
The sisters from Sedalia, Mo., will open the weekend on Friday at RPM Speedway in Hays, which is a high-banked, 3/8th-mile dirt oval.
“It’s really, really exciting to get back into it and do a four-day show,” 18-year-old Haley said. “I think our whole team has been having racing withdrawals.”
They haven’t competed at RPM Speedway or at The Great American Dirt Track at Jetmore Motorplex in Jetmore – site of the 3rd annual Steve King Memorial on Saturday and Sunday. The two-day event at the semi-banked, 3/8th-mile track will also be their first at a memorial race.
“We’re really excited to be a part of that,” Haley said. “We’ve never had the chance to race one of those memorial races yet.”
The weekend concludes on Monday at 81 Speedway in Park City, where the Arnolds opened their season on April 2. It will also cap their first time of racing four straight days.
“Four nights will probably wear us out a little bit, but it’ll probably push us harder as well,” Miranda said.
The team is also set to receive its newest member this week – crewman Joey Tulloch from Australia.
