BUTCHER SHOWS HIS CLASS IN 360 KING OF WINGS

Ben Butcher showed once again why he is not to be showed up in the 360 Sprintcar class, landing his W42 on the podium on Saturday night, at the Perth Motorplex.
After a strong run in hot laps, he was strong in his first heat after a small hiccup and come home in 5th place from 7th.
His second heat was nothing short of scintillating, taking his W42 and leading the field, winning in strong fashion.
The A Main was a strong fought affair and Butcher was up for the fight from the start of the race. Chasing Mitchell Wormall from the start, he steered the car home onto the podium in 2nd place, with a desperate Lockie McHugh coming home in third place.
He was optimistic and happy at the same time with the result and said they were looking forward to their next outing.
“We’ll take the finish for sure,” he said. “It was a great night for us trying some different approaches to setting up the car than how we would usually do it. The car felt more settled and more comfortable to drive up on the wall. We’re looking forward to our next meeting.”
The win sees him lead the 360 Power Series early in the season and it’s something he wants to keep as he has done for the last two seasons running.
“To make it three championships in a row would be awesome, we’ll just see how things go for us. It’s a little disappointing that the series is very limited this season. With last seasons’ power series was very competitive and interesting over all the tracks we visited, which has definitely helped us this season.”
He is hoping to enter the WA Sprintcar Championship on December 7th before the annual Sprintcar Muster on December 28th. Fans can keep up to date with his W42 team in the coming weeks.
