BUTCHER READY FOR MUSTER ASSAULT

BUTCHER READY FOR MUSTER ASSAULT

They say that tenacity against the toughest competition will help win the day. For Ben Butcher and his TWO B Racing outfit, this is definitely the case as they prepare for the annual Sprintcar Muster at the Perth Motorplex tomorrow night.

A strong 25 car field has nominated for the annual event and Butcher is still buoyed by the fact that his recent WA Open Sprintcar Championship result has held the team in good stead.

Even with a smaller 360 motor, while the 410 is being redone for later in the season, he is keen to sink his teeth into the challenge that lies ahead of him.

“We have proved we are more than capable of mixing it with all the top teams,” Butcher stated. “It’s a tough challenge for the team but we’re ready to give it a red hot crack.”
Facing up against three of the toughest US drivers, Butcher sees this as more of an opportunity than a challenge and he firmly believes he has another chance at a top ten finish once again this time around.

“Anything can happen out there, it’s an unknown variable,” he said. “There’s luck in the game, but I prefer to make my own destiny. With our 360, we know we’re down on horses, but that doesn’t worry me at all. I’m really looking forward to it.”

Butcher praised the support of his team mates and the loyal crew that supports his racing efforts so far this season and remains optimistic of how they’re campaign will fair by seasons end.

“The races we have done so far the signs are there for us,” he said. “So the plan is just to keep building on that.”

He has been particularly happy with their qualifying sectors but admits it won’t be a factor having the 360 engine in the car at present.

He knows that it will be just digging in for the hard yards and holding his own in the field for the A Main on Saturday night.
“We’ll hold our own and I am confident I can finish strong,” he said.

With the potential of forming new relationships to further his career in the seasons ahead, he knows that getting laps under his belt of experience is essential to success.

“Just because our 410 is out of action for the short term, it doesn’t mean we’re not going to give it a shot,” he said adamantly. “Our team partners have been keen to stay on board with us and we’re here for them to extend their branding through the sport.”

A credit to his sincerity, Butcher will be out there again tomorrow night, flying his team flag and making sure that the W42 is front and centre come feature race time.
And race fans, who are building in numbers in support are expecting to see him give it all he has to bring the car home with a strong finish.
