Fifteen Year Old driver Christian Bruno will be teaming up again with Michael Fauci for the 2020 season as they were in 2019, but with a new challenge: The USAC East Coast Sprint Car Series.
Bruno will be yet another addition to the growing list of former and current micro sprint racers who have joined the series, and brings another young talented driver to the ever expanding driver roster.
The young driver is a graduate and former four time champion in USAC quarter midget competition collecting three titles on the dirt and one on pavement. In 2019 Bruno had a full plate of 600cc micro sprint action competing in 33 feature events throughout the season. Bruno collected two victories from those 33 feature starts, along with 12 top five finishes, and 10 top ten finishes.
Mike Fauci had the following to say about the upcoming season: “Brooke and I have been searching for the right time to get into a sprint car for awhile now. We have had a lot of people in the sprint car world answer our questions, give us some feedback, but we ultimately decided on the 360 wingless class due to the competition, schedule and how much the class has grown in the recent years. Also going into this collaboratively with Christian Bruno at the wheel ... everything is right place, right time.”
The upcoming season for Bruno and the Fauci team will begin at the Tulsa Shootout in early January where he will competed in all four classes of 600cc micro sprints. Look for Bruno to make select starts in 600cc micro competition in 2020, aside from a full season racing planned at the Action Track USA and with the Rapid Tire, USAC East Coast Sprint Car Series.
Co-Owner Brooke Fauci is looking forward to the new challenge for 2020: “We’re excited to finally get going with the sprint car. Michael and I have had a lot of fun gearing up for the coming season with the Brunos. As a team it’s an awesome feeling to be able to put Christian in this position to grow in the sport as a driver. We have a lot of work ahead of us running both the 600s and 360, but that’s the best part.”
Bruno and team have realistic expectations heading into the new season with two simple goals: To finish races, and compete for Rookie of the Year in 2020. The rookie class this season will be very tough with a number of other drivers joining the series for 2020 along with Bruno and the Mike Fauci Development Team.
One thing that may not be known about the Bruno Family is their close relation ship with organ donation and the Driven2SaveLives foundation as well as Gift of Lives. Bruno’s mother had received a life saving living liver transplant from her cousin, receiving about 60% of her liver. Bruno and his family race across the northeast and have made trips to the mid west carrying the colors of both organizations to raise awareness about the importance of being an organ donor. The gift of organ donation and the life changing opportunities it can bring are a big part of why the Bruno family races.
The Bruno and Fauci Families have given up a lot and worked extremely hard to provide this opportunity to Christian. They’re not a team of high dollar sponsorship, but rather a hard working group who are dedicated to driver development.
