Santa Maria Hosts Round Six

Petersen Media- After traveling all over northern and central California for the first five rounds of the 2011 Golden State King of the West Tour, the series heads south to invade Santa Maria Speedway, in beautiful Santa Maria, California Saturday night.

During last years stop with the Golden State Challenge tour, Gregg simply dominated the feature event. As laps wound down and he got slowed in traffic, second running Sean Becker was able to pull up behind the Placerville, CA native and challenge for the top spot.

As the white flag flew, the two veteran drivers went wheel to wheel looking for the top spot, until contact collapsed Gregg’s front end and he limped across the line in the third spot.

“It was definitely a disappointing finish to say the least,” said Gregg. “I’m excited to get back down there this weekend and hopefully be that fast again.”

After last weekends race in Tulare, CA, Gregg currently sits 7th in the series standings just 11 markers out top climbing back into the top five.

This weekends event is scheduled for qualifying to go green at 5pm, and heat racing will begin at 6pm.
