DRUMRIGHT, Okla. (November 20, 2019) - The Texas Open Wheel Racing (TOWR) series has sanctioned under the umbrella of the National Open Wheel 600 Series (NOW600) beginning with the 2020 season.
Formed in 2014 by Scott Key, the TOWR series ran for two seasons before Key decided to focus on his sons racing full time at the end of the 2015 season.
Returning back in 2019, the TOWR series will sanction with the NOW600 Series to form the NOW600 TOWR Region presented by the Hi Plains Building Division which will take place of the NOW600 North Texas Region and will serves as a touring series.
Superbowl Speedway will return under the sanctioning of the National Open Wheel 600 Series as a NOW600 Weekly Racing track in 2020. This is will be a separate points entity from the touring NOW600 TOWR Region.
The NOW600 TOWR Region will focus their schedule on nights that Superbowl Speedway does not race as they have been offering weekly race every first three weeks of each month since the closure of Cowtown Speedway.
Restricted and Winged A-Class will compete at each NOW600 TOWR event. There may be a few Non-Wing shows added. A full schedule will be released in the near future as dates and tracks are in discussion.
