Stewart Spectacular at Selinsgrove

Petersen Media- Taking advantage of an off weekend from his Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour campaign, Shane Stewart made a trip to the Selinsgrove Speedway in Selinsgrove,PA where he wired the field during the 31st annual NRG Controls North Jack Gunn Memorial aboard Scott McClaren’s potent entry.

As the race got underway, Stewart quickly bolted to the lead from his second starting position with pole sitter Becca Anderson in tow. As Stewart continued to stretch his lead, the caution waved, on the 10th circuit putting Selinsgrove ace, Pat Cannon, on Stewarts rear bumper.

On the restart, Stewart continued to dominate the race as he pulled away from the field and continued to set a dominating pace, as the action heated up behind him.

As he stretched his lead to nearly a straight away advantage, Cannon was over taken by Blane Heimbach for second, who then was able to make up ground on Stewart until the caution waved with just 10 laps remaining.

After another stoppage on the 23rd lap, the final restart saw Stewart again get the advantage as Heimbach tried both high and low to get by the current 2011 Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour point leader but Shane was simply to strong and raced on to the win.

“I’ve really got to thank Scott (McClaren) for giving me the chance to come out here and race,” said a jubilant Stewart. “Scott and his guys gave me an outstanding car tonight and I’m glad I was able to give them a win. It was nice to get back to race against the tough competition in Pennsylvania and hopefully I get a chance to get back out here again soon.”
