WOW - been missing here with updates for awhile, as just the rat race of "life" has taken over any free time.
Heading into the busiest time of year for the USAC/CRA season this November, Austin is on a roll.
September was the California Swing - kicking off with The Louie Vermeil Classic and the picturesque Calistoga Speedway. Line up for Main Event looked ominous, as Austin took his spot in 6th. From there he charged to the front and Claimed The coveted Louie Vermeil Trophy!! Night 2 was running on a positive note, starting 8th and up to 3rd in 4 laps, when a fuel leak sent him to the back of the pack.
The 5 race mini series came down to the last Main Event at Santa Maria where 1 point seperated him from brining home the " Mini Championship" Between the 2 whoever won the event would take home the cool suctom made surfboard chairs, symbolizing " California Sprint Week " Damion won the race and by 1 lousy point, took them home. All in all 1 Win, a 2nd & a 3rd made the trip a huge success.
Take a week off and then back at it at Perris Auto Speedway - where Austin and team Moose had the Moosemmobile hooked up and made starting 8th and taking the Win look easy.!!
Rounding out the month of September was San Tan Speedway in Arizona - setting Quick Time, starting 6th and standing on the podium in 2nd topped off a spectacular monh of September.
Craziness - October saw no races scheduled and teams prepared for the Oval Nationals --
SItting 2nd on Championship points only 55 points behind Damion Gardner, its a bunch to make up, but everyone is pulling for Austin as we head into the last 5 races of the USAC/CRA season,
