Inside Line Promotions – MESQUITE, Texas (Oct. 23, 2019) – Jack Dover earned his best result at Devil’s Bowl Speedway since winning the 2010 Winter Nationals last Saturday during the 46th edition of the marquee Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour event.
Dover produced a pair of stout results during the doubleheader. He won a heat race from the pole position on Friday to garner a spot into the feature redraw. Dover pulled the No. 5 to line up on the inside of the third row for the main event.
“We were running fifth almost the whole race,” he said. “I changed my line to get a couple more spots and fell back a couple. It was pretty much around the top and one lane. I moved down to try something and lost a couple of spots.”
Dover’s seventh-place result was his 27th top 10 of the season and fourth of the year with the ASCS National Tour.
The weekend concluded with another strong run on Saturday as Dover captured a heat race after lining up second. The feature redraw yielded the No. 3 for Dover, who lined up third for the main event.
“We got up to second, but were too tight,” he said. “With the competition that was there, to come out of there with a podium was pretty respectable. It was a good way to end the year.”
Dover’s third-place finish was his best outing of the season with the ASCS National Tour. It marked his 20th top five of the year.
“We took the notes we’ve learned the last couple of months and the setup we’ve been running has been working pretty good,” he said. “We were going down there to get some top 10s and we came out of there with a better weekend.”
