Madsen and KCP Racing Back In Top-5 With World Of Outlaws at Tri-State Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA- Ian Madsen and his KCP Racing team bounced back from a tough National Open weekend, and charged from 10th to fourth with the World of Outlaws on Sunday night at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, IN.

“Sunday was a good night for our team, really a good run for us coming off a tough weekend,” Ian Madsen said. “The first few laps of the race were a little wild with a trio of wrecks, but once the race got going I felt we were really good.”

Timing the Logan Contractors Supply, Inc./Aspen Aire/Royal Flooring backed No. 18 entry in 10th quickest in qualifying time trials, the St. Marys, NSW driver would pick up a fourth place finish in his heat race.

Taking the green flag from the 10th starting spot, Madsen would pick up a couple of early positions, though the race’s first 12 laps was mired by a trio of caution flags. Once they field came back to green on lap 12, the duration of the 40-lap affair would run non stop and would allow Madsen to work his way forward.

Running much better on the bullrings in 2019 than in years past, Madsen was able to slice an dice his way forward on the ever changing Tri-State Speedway surface.

Mixing it up with older brother Kerry, and a charging Sheldon Haudenschild late, Madsen would hold a spot inside the Top-5 as he ran in fourth. Pestering K. Madsen for the final spot on the podium, Madsen would close the night out with a fourth place run.

“With Saturday getting rained out, it was good to still get a race in and get our confidence back up heading into the final month of the season,” Madsen said. “My guys work so hard, and we’ve really been consistent in the Top-5 lately, and hopefully we can turn these runs into a win or two before the season ends.”

Ian and his KCP Racing team would like to thank Logan Contractors Supply Inc., Aspen Aire, Royal Flooring, Bobcat, Kline Electric, Ted’s Body Shop, Team Excavating, Greenland Homes, American Express, TammyHeckart.com, Quality Traffic Control, BergenKDV, P1 Race Wear, and BK Racing Titanium for their support this season.
