Inside Line Promotions – OHSWEKEN, Ontario, Canada (Sept. 19, 2019) – Joe Trenca produced a 20th-place result last Saturday during the Canadian Sprint Car Nationals.
A whopping 60 drivers ventured to Ohsweken Speedway for the spectacle, which began with a 14th-place qualifying effort in group action for the Mucci Motorsports driver.
“We needed to be in the top eight to catch the heat race inversion,” he said. “We ended up about three tenths of a second out of eighth so that put us behind from the start of the night.”
Trenca started seventh and was able to pass one driver during a heat race. That relegated him toward the back of the B Main. He maneuvered from 11th to seventh to transfer into the back of the main event. Trenca advanced a half-dozen positions to place 20th.
He will return to Patriot Sprint Tour competition this Friday and Saturday at Outlaw Speedway in Dundee, N.Y., where he earned his first career sprint car victory last month.
“Outlaw Speedway is one of our favorite tracks so we’re excited for the weekend,” Trenca said. “Hopefully we can back up our victory with another trip into Victory Lane.”
