Inside Line Promotions – CHICO, Calif. (Sept. 11, 2019) – Kraig Kinser’s best result during a trio of World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series races last week was a ninth-place run during his lone visit to Oregon this season.

Kinser has another three-race week on tap as the final West Coast swing wraps up in California. The team will compete on Wednesday at Placerville Speedway in Placerville during the 49er Gold Rush Classic presented by Riebes NAPA Auto Parts; on Friday at Stockton Dirt Track in Stockton during the NOS Energy Drink Showdown at Stockton; and on Saturday at Calistoga Speedway in Calistoga during the Wine Country Outlaw Showdown.

“Our goal is to continue with strong qualifying and putting a whole night together,” he said. “Consistency is big for us. We know we’ll have off nights, but we want to be consistent most nights when we hit the track.”

Kinser kicked last week’s action off in Oregon with a visit to Willamette Speedway in Lebanon, where he qualified sixth quickest, placed fifth in a heat race, finished eighth in the qualifier and rallied from 12th to ninth in the A Main.

“It’s positive to move forward in the feature,” he said. “The car was handling good. Unfortunately it took too long to get the car that good. We want to be stronger early in the night and take advantage of a good qualifying run.”

The team then headed to Silver Dollar Speedway for the Gold Cup Race of Champions weekend. Kinser qualified second quickest on Friday, but struggled with the car in the heat race. He was caught up in a flip during a heat race on Saturday. Both nights ended with Kinser pulling off the track early in the main event.

“It wasn’t what we wanted,” he said. “Friday started off well with a good qualifying lap, but we couldn’t capitalize. You can’t be off when you put yourself in that good of a position. We couldn’t take advantage of it. We’ll keep working to try to keep us in a positive position.”
