Inside Line Promotions – PORT ROYAL, Pa. (Sept. 9, 2019) – Brian Brown recorded back-to-back podium finishes during Ollie’s Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions competition in Pennsylvania last weekend.

Sept. 5 – Bedford Speedway in Bedford, Pa. – Qualifying: 2; Heat race: 4 (4); Dash: 2 (1); Feature: 2 (2).

“We took off in the feature and Reutzel was pretty good in open air,” Brown said. “We found a different line that was working pretty good, but we had trouble with a lapped car there. We got by them and got back to Reutzel and then the yellow came out. In clean air he had an opportunity to set sail and we had to settle for second. Overall, it was a good night for us.”

Sept. 6 – Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pa. – Qualifying: 5; Heat race: 1 (4); Dash: 4 (3); Feature: 3 (7).

“That was probably the best we’ve ever been at Port Royal in the heat race,” Brown said. “We tried something in the dash and got back off base a little. In the feature I could maneuver all over. I felt at one point I had the fastest car on the track. Track position just didn’t work out. I was able to get to third and almost passed Trey Starks for second on a restart. I didn’t get that done and got to racing with Anthony Macri a little. I was able to get him back and settle in for a podium. That was a very, very good night for us. Any time you can go to Central Pennsylvania and get a podium out of 50-plus cars it’s a great night.”

Sept. 7 – Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pa. – Qualifying: 7; Heat race: 5 (4); B Main: 2 (2); Feature: 14 (20).

“Our goal was to go in there and set quick time,” Brown said. “That allows you to somewhat control your destiny because the format was a little different. You basically had to win the heat. I had a game plan, but I didn’t get going. By the time I got into turn one I was in fifth. We had to run the B Main, which isn’t all bad because it gives you another opportunity on the track. With the track slowing down as much as it did we were just off a little bit. We didn’t really know why. In the B Main we were a little better and we went for broke in the feature. We went with what we’d go with if we were starting up front going for the win. We were just too tight in traffic. Overall I’m proud of Chad, Nate and dad. They did a good job all week long.”

UP NEXT – Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., and Saturday at Selinsgrove Speedway in Selinsgrove, Pa., for the Jim Nace Memorial 37th annual National Open presented by Red Robin

“Any time we can get more laps at Williams Grove it’s beneficial to learn,” Brown said. “Selinsgrove is a big race for our race team. Charlie Garrett and Jim Nace were really good friends. We were lucky to win the race in 2017 and we ran third last year. The ultimate goal is to win, especially on Saturday when the money is on the line. We know there will be a lot of talented drivers so we’ll have to be on our game.”
