Inside Line Promotions – ELMA, Wash. (Sept. 4, 2019) – Kraig Kinser posted his career-best finish at Skagit Speedway last Friday during the opening night of the World of Outlaws at Skagit Presented by Scottie’s Plumbing.

Kinser qualified second quickest before he won both a heat race and the dash from the pole position. That lined him up on the inside of the front row for the A Main at the oval in Alger, Wash.

“I’ve ran good there in the past, but haven’t been able to finish it off,” he said. “Logan (Schuchart) had the car to beat all weekend. He had speed and handling and a little of everything. That’s what you look for. We were able to hang with him pretty well that first night, but he was able to get through traffic and I never could capitalize on it.”

Kinser ran second the entire race to finish second, which is also his best outing of the season.

The action continued on Saturday at Skagit Speedway, where Kinser qualified sixth quickest before he won a heat race for the second straight night. Unfortunately, he drew the last row for the dash and finished sixth, lining him up on the outside of the third row for the main event.

“It was lot slicker than I thought,” he said. “We were running fifth and running the top and I went to the bottom and spun out. When you’re running in the top five you never want to give those away. I dove in there a little too hard and couldn’t gain control back.”

Kinser restarted at the back and finished the race with a 15th-place result.

The team ventured to Grays Harbor Raceway on Monday. Kinser timed in sixth quickest before he placed fourth in a heat race and third in the qualifier. He gained a position in the feature to end sixth, which was his 20th top 10 of the season.

“Those are the nights you can build on,” he said. “I got into fifth at one point and wish we could have hung on there, but a sixth-place finish is good. It was a solid weekend all around with qualifying decent and racing pretty decent.”

Kinser is slated to compete on Wednesday at Willamette Speedway in Lebanon, Ore., and on Friday and Saturday at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, Calif., during the Gold Cup Race of Champions with the World of Outlaws.
