Inside Line Promotions – CLAY, N.Y. (Aug. 20, 2019) – Joe Trenca is in the thick of a tight points battle as the Patriot Sprint Tour season begins to wind down.
The Mucci Motorsports driver ranks second in the championship standings – only 38 points out of the lead – entering an event this Saturday at Woodhull Raceway in Woodhull, N.Y.
“We haven’t run for points very often in our career, but we committed to the Patriot Sprint Tour season this year so it’s been rewarding to be in contention night in and night out,” he said. “We have built a lot of confidence this year and we’re excited to close out the season with a few more strong runs.”
It’s been the most consistent season of Trenca’s career as he scored his first career win to go along with six top fives and 10 top 10s in 21 starts, some of which came in the 410ci winged sprint car division.
Trenca has also been strong at Woodhull Raceway, earning results of fourth and fifth place, respectively, during a pair of starts this season.
“Any time you’ve had a lot of success at a track it helps with your confidence returning there,” he said. “We have two top fives this season and this Saturday we’re looking to take it a step further by earning our first win at the track.”
