Saturday night, Andy Gregg will lead his Bret Ervin Racing/7 Industries/Eagle No.53 car to Ocean Speedway in Watsonville, CA for round number three of the 2011 Golden State King of the West Series.
Last week, the Bret Ervin Racing team raced to a 14th place finish in the feature after fighting there way from mid-pack in the ‘B’, and starting deep in the A-main line up.
“Qualifying really set us back last week, but the beautiful thing about that is we have a new race this week to forget about that and move forward,” said Gregg.
This week in Watsonville is expected to be an electric atmosphere as the revamped series makes there first stop at the track this year that hosted many exciting races for the series last year.
“John (Prentice) always does such a great job with the track, and they always have a great crowd on hand, so I’m really going to do my best to put on a show this weekend,” added Gregg.
Kicking the entire weekend off will be the first FanFest event of the season at Chevrolet of Watsonville on Friday April 22, 2011 at 4pm. The event will feature the 7 Industries No.53 car as long as a host of other drivers. There will also be giveaways, free hot dogs, and Chevy car test drives for the fans in attendance.
Racing action is slated to get off to an early start this weekend. The front gates will open at 3pm, with qualifying slated to roll off promptly at 4:45 and racing to immediately follow so please remember to show up early.
