ROCKSTAR/Makita No. 57 Rolls to 4th in I-30 Finale

Saturday night in Little Rock, AK, Shane Stewart remained one of the hottest drivers on the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour as he extended his series points lead, and grabbed fourth place aboard his Paul Silva owned ROCKSTAR/Makita/A.R.T. entry.

By way of his second place run on Friday night, Shane had locked the Lucas Oil Products/Cross Creek Trucking/Pro-Bilt Construction backed sprinter into the nights re-draw.

After heat races had been completed, the draw put the Finley Farms/Palmero Properties/Wesmar powered No. 57 in the third starting position for the 35-lap feature on the tricky, high-banked ¼ mile bullring.

As the green flag waved on the feature Stewart, grabbed the fourth spot, as the race was quickly halted for a flipping Zach Chappel. After another quick 2-lap run the race was slowed again for a spinning car, as Stewart held on to the fourth spot.

Once the race restarted on lap ten, the next 25 laps ripped off in rapid fashion as cars utilized both the top and bottom of the tight track.

While running in the fourth spot, Shane and Tim Crawley put on a furious battle on the 15th lap, with Crawley getting the spot as Shane fell back to the fifth spot.

As Shane continued to utilize both the top and the bottom, he fought through traffic as he pursued Sam Hafertepe for the fourth spot. After finally clearing traffic and getting to the bumper of Hafertepe on the 30th lap, the duo put on a very exciting battle. On the 33rd lap Shane was able to get around Hafertepe and grab the fourth spot, which ne would never relinquish.

“It ended up being a solid weekend for the ROCKSTAR/Makita car,” said Shane. “This place has had my number the last few years, and I am pleased to get out of here with a second and a fourth.”
