BRAD DOTY “SECOND EDITION” NEARS RELEASE

FISHERS, Ind. – After many years out-of-print, the acclaimed autobiography Still Wide Open by Brad Doty has renewed life.

The book, an inspirational volume detailing Doty’s sprint car racing career and recovery from a devastating spinal injury, takes on a “new and improved” form but contains all of the content of the original, first published in 1999.

New content, a new cover, a fresh new layout, and a comprehensive index were added to this “Second Edition,” which is slated for release in May. Three full chapters have been added, bringing readers up-to-date with Doty’s life and developments within the sport.

“I’ve enjoyed revisiting the book, and putting together the new chapters,” said Doty, who continues his role in the sport as a color analyst on a variety of television productions. “People have asked for many years how they could get a copy of the original book, and I’ve always wished we had a greater supply. I’m excited that we will once again have books available.”

Doty, a member of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame, remains one of auto racing’s most iconic ambassadors. His enthusiasm and passion for the sport, plus his genuine demeanor and easy personality, have long made him a favorite among both fans and competitors. His voice and viewpoint carry great respect, and that’s the voice readers will find on the pages of Still Wide Open.

Doty once again collaborated with Dave Argabright on the project, with whom the original volume was penned.

Still Wide Open will be available sometime in May, and pre-orders are now being accepted at www.daveargabright.com, or (317) 598-1263. All books ordered prior to May 15 will be autographed by both Doty and Argabright.

The 288-page hardbound book features 32 pages of color and b/w photos, with a foreword by Steve Kinser and additional “guest voices” throughout. A “Collector’s Edition” has also been produced, containing a special photo section from Doty’s personal archive.
