Sycamore, Ill., July 31--- Points leader Jack Routson heads the list of entries for The Zimbrick Chevrolet of Sun Prairie Badger Midget Racing Series event at Sycamore Speedway this Saturday Night Aug 3.
Saturday's "Kane County Championship Night" event will also feature Super Late Models, Street Stocks, and Pure Stocks. Routson winner of the most recent Sycamore race on June 22 leads Chase McDermand by thirty-five points entering the event.
The event is the thirteenth of the season and puts Badger at the 2/3rd’s mark of the season. Routson has finished every feature event in the top ten highlighted by three feature victories (6/8 Plymouth, 6/22 Sycamore, 7/27 Beaver Dam), and two fast times. Routson had recorded only thirteen Badger starts before this season, making his series debut on May 22, 2016.
“We trying to stay consistent every night, there’s a lot of good competition, were so happy we have three feature victories this season, I’m still learning a lot about the series. We’ve put ourselves in position late in the race a few times and it’s paid off with wins” commented Routson.
The car is owned by Jack’s father Tim Routson and uses a Boss chassis and Chevrolet engine. The team is sponsored by Prairie State Water Systems, Midwest Seal Coat, Service Concepts HVAC & Mechanical, and Horizon Carpentry.
General admission gates at Sycamore open at 6 pm, qualifying begins at 6:30 pm with races to follow. Adult ticket price is $12, with children (5-11) $5, with kids under five admitted free.
