Inside Line Promotions – MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (July 29, 2019) – Jason Sides is looking forward to August getting off to a hot start this weekend.
Sides will compete on Friday and Saturday at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Mo., during the Ironman 55 with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series.
“I’m really excited about getting to Pevely,” he said. “I enjoy that track. Whether you’re in the front or the back it’s a blast because the race track is fun.”
The team will then hustle to Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, on Sunday as Tim Kaeding is set to compete during the 8th annual Bell Helmets Capitani Classic presented by Great Southern Bank.
“He hasn’t got to run there this year so we’ll go back and try to make a few spots better than last year,” Sides said. “We have something good to start with.”
Kaeding placed fourth during his Knoxville Nationals preliminary night and fifth during the finale last year.
Sides is coming off a three-race week in Pennsylvania, beginning last Tuesday at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver for the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup.
“The track started off slick and got slicker and slicker,” he said. “We never got tight enough for the track. There was not much of anything. There were wet spots that you’d hit and you’d get a little grip and go back to slick.”
Sides was credited with a 23rd-place result.
He then ventured to Williams Grove Speedway for the Champion Racing Oil Summer Nationals. Unfortunately, his night ended with a fifth-place finish in the Last Chance Showdown on both Friday and Saturday.
“We were one away every time,” he said. “We didn’t make any gains in the heat and in the B Main we were one spot away from transferring both times. It came down to not qualifying well enough to start each night.”
