Inside Line Promotions – OHSWEKEN, Ontario, Canada (July 25, 2019) – Joe Trenca highlighted a busy four-race stretch with a top-10 performance during his debut at Cornwall Motor Speedway on Sunday.

The Mucci Motorsports driver tackled four straight Patriot Sprint Tour races in Canada beginning last Saturday at Brockville Ontario Speedway in Brockville, Ontario. He maneuvered from fifth to second place in a heat race before finishing 12th in the main event.

“The heat race was good,” he said. “We passed cars and got into the redraw. We finally drew a good number and started the feature third. The track took rubber within the first couple of laps. I got shoved out of the groove and off the track with hard racing. I fell back in line around 12th and that was the race.”

His best outing came the following night during his first ever appearance at the bullring in Long Sault, Ontario. Trenca advanced from third to second place in a heat race to make the feature redraw. He pulled the No. 8 to line up on the outside of the fourth row.

“Third through eighth, we were all under a blanket racing hard,” he said. “We had a restart with a few laps to go and I hit the bottom right to get two positions. It was a fun race.”

Trenca posted a sixth-place finish before heading to Ohsweken Speedway for a two-day event that began on Monday. He moved forward every time he was on the track, going ninth to seventh in a heat race, third to second in a B Main and 25th to 16th in the main event.

“We drew the worst pill they had and had to start last in the heat,” he said. “The track was super fast with a wicked cushion. We battled motor problems all night so that made it even worse. We didn’t have time to change motors because of how fast they were moving the program along. In the feature we did what we could with a sour motor.

“We changed motors and fixed the problems we had on Tuesday. We were a lot better in the heat race. I got passed with two laps to go, but I passed back for the lead coming out of turn four. That was nice to do that.”

Trenca won a heat race before lining up ninth in the main event.

“We ran up to fifth in the first few laps,” he said. “I had the wing trunked when I got up there and I knew we were in trouble. We were too good too early. I couldn’t get rolling after that like we were early.”

Trenca salvaged a 12th-place result to cap the busy week.

“We built a new car and we were happy with it,” he said. “At Brockville we would have been all right, but we got caught up in a racing deal and that was it. Cornwall was super, super slick and we went forward every time we were on the track so that was a positive. And we had some good speed at Ohsweken.”

Trenca is scheduled to resume action this Saturday at Outlaw Speedway in Dundee, N.Y., with the Patriot Sprint Tour.
