26 Promotions – Vado, NM – (July 25, 2019) – Rick Shuman made the trip east to Vado Speedway Park as the POWRi 360 Non-Wing Sprint Cars made their first appearance at the newly constructed three-eighth mile semi-banked oval.
Saturday night kicked off with heat race action where Shuman quickly learned that his flat tappet cam motor didn’t have the horsepower to compete up front on a very fast on the cushion racetrack. Finishing fourth would line Shuman up on the outside of the seventh row for the start of the 30-lap feature.
“We decided to try to hook up on the bottom, due to the less horsepower deal,” Shuman explained. “We stayed out of trouble. Kept out of the way and 30-laps later finished 12th. I have to thank my guys, Joe Campos and John Hunter for all of their hard work and of course Rue and Royal for a fabulous racing facility.”
