Inside Line Promotions – BILLINGS, Mont. (July 24, 2019) – Scott Bogucki and his SawBlade.com sponsored team had a tremendous weekend at Big Sky Speedway as they prepare for two huge weeks of racing at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa.
Bogucki charged to a second-place run at Big Sky Speedway on Friday before placing eighth on Saturday during a Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour doubleheader.
“I was running Sam (Hafertepe Jr.) down and just ran out of laps,” he said of Friday’s A Main, which he started eighth after winning a heat race. “The car was a rocket.”
On Saturday it looked like Bogucki was headed for another podium finish before a flat tire cost him a shot.
“We had run from 10th to fifth and was closing quickly when we had a red and my left rear tire went completely flat,” he said. “We went to the work area and changed it, but the only tire I had made the car stupid tight. Still I was able to come from the tail to eighth. Another lap or two and I could have gotten to fourth or fifth.
“It was a good weekend and it put us back in fourth in the points.”
Bogucki now focuses on Knoxville Raceway. He will race there this Saturday in preparation for the 29th annual My Place Hotels Knoxville Nationals presented by Great Southern Bank, which will be held Aug. 1-3. Bogucki will follow that up by switching engines to compete in the 59th annual NOS Energy Drink Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s General Stores Aug. 7-10.
“We have been busy this week working on a new bullet for the 360 Nationals,” he said. “It’s an animal; the best engine Ostrich has ever built. We will shake the car down this Saturday and get after it for the Nationals.”
