Jack Dover made all the right moves to fend off the field Tuesday night at the $2,000 to win Lyon County Fair races at Rapid Speedway. In the Tri-State Late Model feature, it was Nate Beyenhof taking the win with a final corner pass.
“I didn’t win this one,” said Dover in victory lane. “This was a team effort.”
Dover was out front for the entire duration of the feature, but it wasn’t that easy. Dover had to hit every restart masterfully, as he did.
Behind him, Terry McCarl charged from row five on the start to claim second. Third went to Kaleb Johnson. Eric Lutz made a late pass to take fourth ahead of Jody Rosenboom.
Carson McCarl claimed the Autoland Hard Charger Award going +12 and finishing in ninth.
For the Tri-State Late Models, Jordan Heiman led from the drop of the green, but lurking behind him was the #51 of Nate Beyenhof. Beyenhof dove to the bottom in turn one just after taking the white flag. The duo races side-by-side until the exit of the final turn where Beyenhof took the advantage and went on to the win.
Thanks to bonus money from sponsor, the hometown winner took home $1200 in bonus money in addition to the $1000 for the victory.
Crossing the line third was Gary Brown, Jr., ahead of John Hoefert and Brad Vogt.
MSTS competes this Saturday at I-90 Speedway.
