ROSEVILLE, CA - It's official, the 2011 racing season for the Hoosier Racing Tires Civil War Sprint Car Series is here. Tonight the newest version of California's premier series for 360 cubic inch powered winged sprint cars opens at Petaluma Speedway and is sure to produce a stellar chase for the coveted statewide championship title.
As the newest chapter in the popular series begins, the official list of contingency sponsors has been finalized by the office of Handy Racing Promotions who manages the tour with the active cooperation of all of the participating track promoters. The Civil War Series is unique in the fashion that the series is a collaboration of tracks working together united to present Northern California with an exciting traveling series that still permits its competitors to compete at their local tracks on a regular basis. By working as a whole, this great group of tracks are acting stewards to insure that dirt track racing continues in the region by actively supporting one another in tough economic times to present the best bang for buck for both the race fans and the competitors.
Much like its participating tracks, another group of individuals that are dedicated to the Civil War Sprint Car Series are the many contingency sponsors that contribute to this annual campaign with bonus funds and product awards throughout the year. It doesn't matter if their company is big or small, every business that commits to participating with the Civil War Series is much appreciated and treated equally as every dollar counts in today's sport.
This year, well over $22,000 is up for grabs in overall contingency awards within the Civil War Series. Nearly $2000 in bonus products will be awarded in each Civil War event that takes place with additional perks being presented at the conclusion of the season at the annual awards banquet.
At this time, 20 different racing related companies have committed to sponsoring the series. Those who have made this commitment are as follows in no particular order as each and everyone of these sponsors are proud partners of the Civil War Sprint Car Series;
Hansen Machine and Fabrication will award $75 in product to the winner of every B main in the series. Kaeding Performance returns to present $50 to the fourth place finisher in each A main with an additional $250 in a random draw among the top 10 drivers in the series. King Racing Products will award $25 to 10th place in the A main. A.R.T Enterprises returns with a $50 award to the driver who pulls the #21 pill in each event.
Dirt Solutions has joined the Civil War Contingency court in 2011 with $15 towards a case purchase for each event. The Online Motorsports Superstore Pit Stop USA returns with five awards in each event including $25 to first, third and fifth in each A main as well as first place in the B feature and the fast time. CRV Carbon Solutions presents $25 to 7th and 11th in each A feature. BR Motorsports will award $25 to 7th place in each B feature; Fuel Safe Racing Cells $500 to second place in the A feature; KSE Racing Products presents $50 to the Hard Charger for each event; MPD Racing Products presents $460 in a random draw to the top ten in the series; Hunt Magnetos presents $50 to the first non transfer in the B feature and $50 to the driver who is 30th in qualifying.
Brodix Cylinder Heads presents $100 in a random draw for each event; Weld Racing Wheels $75 in random draw; Butler Built Professional Seat Systems presents $50 to 12th place in each A feature. Frankland Racing Supply awards $25 to 7th and 14th in each A feature; Racing Optics awards $26.95 to 6th place in the A main for the purchase of tear offs; Rod End Supply presents $30 to 15th fast and 25th fast in qualifying. VanLare Steering Repair presents $100 to 8th place in each A feature towards labor and $25 to 9th place in the A feature. Swepco High Performance Lubricants has come aboard once again as well, offering 50% off wholesale pricing for select popular product.
Saturday's event in Petaluma is first of 14 events at six of California's best known race tracks that have all experienced the thrill of Civil War Sprint Car Racing in year's past. The hosts of this tour span Northern California from the Sierra Foothills to the Wine Country and the Coastal Region. Every regular Civil War Series event will pay $2000 to the winner and $300 to start the 22 car A-feature. This year the champion of the Civil War season will earn a minimum of $10,000, the highest paying title in the history of the series.
In 2010, more than 125 different teams competed in various events in the traveling Civil War Series. The campaign consisted of 13 total events at six different California race tracks. Eight different drivers hoisted feature event trophies during the past season and one driver repeated in the form of a championship in grand fashion.
