WATSONVILLE, CALIFORNIA (April 7, 2011) – Ocean Speedway and promoter John Prentice have announced a new partnership with Wing Stop of Watsonville that will see all kids under 12 admitted free into the races for most of the stock car events at the Santa Cruz Fairgrounds dirt oval.
Wing Stop is new to Watsonville as of last year and owner Ed Laughlin took an instant liking to the racing action at the speedway. Wing Stop will stay open until midnight after the races and is located at Airport and Freedom Blvd next to Safeway.
“In the few times I have been to Ocean speedway I was very impressed with the facility and the racing,” Ed Laughlin said. “I am proud to let other business owners know that we are a part of this great operation. Also when I was there I thought the Four-Bangers put on some great racing!”
Wing Stop is just the latest in a long list of great sponsors to either join or continue their relationship with Ocean Speedway for 2011.
“I’m very happy in this tough economy that we were able to attract businesses that want to be a part of Ocean Speedway,” Prentice said. “With Watsonville Chevrolet coming aboard this year and now Wing Stop, along with all the returning sponsors, this will help the Speedway immensely. I’m looking forward to my first visit to Wing Stop of Watsonville!”
The free ticket offer for kids under 12 will be good for all regular weekly shows, not including the Taco Bravo Sprints and special events. Area families will have an affordable option to see IMCA Modified, Late Model, Four-Banger, Dwarf Car, 600 Micro Sprint, Wingless Sprint, and American Stock racing action all summer.
