Was really looking forward to Mooseracing92 night at Perris Auto Speedway in the Jim Blakesley Racing #12B / Don Blair Special, however it did not go that way.
Got unloaded and car ready. Pushed off early to double check oil pressure with the new Barnes Systems pump we installed. Everything looked good and felt great. Mud packed and got on the throttle a few times and the car really felt good and strong.
Lined up for hot laps, got pushed off and made a lap. Coming to the front straight I got on the throttle and the car lurched forward and then went nowhere. Got it back to the pits and found all the bolts holding the torque tube had been ripped out of the rear end. It left the driveshaft on the track, torque tube, and rear end shaft. This ended our night. We have a spare rear end but without being able to be 100% sure everything was ok it just was not worth tearing up more equipment.
Watching the race from the outside is never fun but I had the chance to learn a few things and watch one heck of a race.
Doug Fort Memorial at Santa Maria is this weekend then back to the PAS Perris Auto Speedway the following weekend. Everyone bring two more people, two new people. Lets fill the stands up.
Thank you to everyone who helps us get out to the track every weekend.
