Inside Line Promotions – FULTON, N.Y. (July 10, 2019) – Joe Trenca will compete in both 410ci and 360ci winged sprint car competition this weekend.
The Mucci Motorsports driver is slated to race with the Ollie’s Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions on Friday at Utica-Rome Speedway in Vernon, N.Y., and with the Patriot Sprint Tour on Saturday at Woodhull Raceway in Woodhull, N.Y.
“We have to start the night off by timing in well with the All Stars,” he said. “In order to put ourselves in contention to battle for a top 10 we need to qualify well. And we’re excited to return to Woodhull. I think we had our best finish ever there the last time.”
Trenca is coming off a frustrating three-race weekend with the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints.
It began on Thursday at Land of Legends Raceway in Canandaigua, N.Y., where he qualified fifth quickest in his group, placed fourth in a heat race, ended second in the dash and gained two positions to finish 12th in the main event.
The team ventured to Brewerton Speedway in Brewerton, N.Y., on Friday. Trenca was third quickest in his group before he scored a third-place finish in a heat race. He capped the night with an 11th-place outing in the A Main.
The weekend concluded on Saturday at Fulton Speedway, where Trenca qualified fourth quickest in his group. He placed third in a heat race and 13th in the main event.
“It was a weird weekend,” he said. “We changed a lot of stuff and the car never changed. I’m just baffled. We worked late at night and early in the morning and we just were no good during feature-time. We couldn’t find forward drive. We did some stuff to the car this week so hopefully we get back to running well.”
