Inside Line Promotions – PETTY, Texas (July 10, 2019) – Zane Lawrence returned to action last Saturday at 82 Speedway, which hosted a Sprint Car Bandits Series show.
Lawrence finished where he started in a heat race – fourth – during his debut at the oval.
“We weren’t very good in the heat race,” he said. “It felt like I was on an ice rink. I came in after the heat and made a lot of changes for the feature.”
Lawrence’s heat race result started him on the inside of the seventh row for the feature. He began his charge to the front right away, advancing a total of 10 positions to finish third. It marked his first podium result of the season.
“The track and the car were both really good in the feature,” he said. “It had two grooves of racing and we were able to pick off positions throughout the feature. The changes must have been the right ones for us to score our first podium of the season.”
Lawrence’s next race will be this Saturday at Abilene Speedway in Abilene, Texas, with the Texas Sprint Series.
