Inside Line Promotions – HARTFORD, Ohio (July 8, 2019) – Greg Wilson passed a lot of cars last weekend during an Ollie’s Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions doubleheader.

Wilson and his Hercules Tires, DNC Hydraulics, Ohio Logistics and Gear Off Road sponsored team charged from 20th to third place on Friday at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pa., and from 20th to ninth place on Saturday at Sharon Speedway to earn the Hard Charger Award each night.

“We changed some stuff around and put a J&J chassis together to try a different frame,” he said. “The good part is some of the things we’re struggling with were similar to what we already had. Later in the night some of the things we did made us automatically better.”

Wilson timed in fifth quickest in his group on Friday to open the competition at Lernerville Speedway. A fifth-place result in a heat race lined him up on the outside of the 10th row for the main event.

“Friday was a whole different feel and we got real good in the feature,” he said. “The cool part about it was early in the race I could float through the middle and around the top. I floated by probably six or eight cars at the beginning of the race just rolling the middle. As the race went on we really got good on the bottom. When they were slipping and sliding we were patient and hitting our marks.”

Wilson’s third-place finish was his season best with the All Stars.

The weekend concluded on Saturday at Sharon Speedway during the Lou Blaney Memorial.

“We were real good in hot laps,” he said. “I think we were second quickest overall. I didn’t get to go up and watch the track. I needed to change my line and not making excuses, but I didn’t get to. Then you’re battling all night.”

Wilson timed in fifth quickest in his group for the second straight night. A fifth-place finish in the heat race lined him up 20th in the feature for the second consecutive night.

“We were able to stick the middle in turns one and two,” he said. “We were really good on the bottom in turns three and four, but so were quite a few other guys. It took a lot of patience. By the end of the race I was out of patience.”

Wilson’s charge to a ninth-place result marked his eight top 10 of the season with the series.

Next up is a tripleheader this Friday at Utica-Rome Speedway in Vernon, N.Y.; Saturday at Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown, N.Y.; and Sunday at Lebanon Valley Speedway in West Lebanon, N.Y.

First, Wilson has a Hercules Tires dealership visit this Wednesday at Scassa Tire in Springfield, Ohio, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
