Inside Line Promotions – JACKSON, Minn. (July 2, 2019) – Kraig Kinser was just a tick off throughout last weekend’s 41st annual AGCO Jackson Nationals at Jackson Motorplex.
Kinser qualified ninth quickest in his World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series group, placed sixth in a heat race, ended second in the Last Chance Showdown and capped the night by finishing 21st in the feature on Thursday.
Everything improved on Friday with Kinser timing in fourth quickest in his group, scoring a third-place heat race run and recording a 16th-place outing in the main event.
The weekend wrapped up on Saturday with Kinser advancing a position in a heat race to finish third before he closed the event with a 20th-place result in the A Main.
“We were off all weekend a little bit,” he said. “We wanted to be a little quicker. The results were all the same. We worked hard to get our car working better. I think we accomplished that even though the results weren’t there. The car started feeling better as the weekend went on. We worked and got better and better car-wise. If you look at the results it doesn’t show because we made other mistakes setup-wise.”
Next up for Kinser will be his debut at Brown County Speedway in Aberdeen, S.D., this Wednesday during the Star Spangled Showdown. He will then compete on Friday and Saturday at Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis., during the FVP Platinum Battery Showdown.
“I don’t know what to expect at Brown County so we’ll do the best we can,” he said. “I enjoy going to Cedar Lake. It’s a good race track that can be difficult to navigate sometimes so it will be important to qualify well.”
