Saturday night at the famed Devils Bowl Speedway, Shane Stewart charged to a very strong second place finish from his eleventh starting spot aboard his Silva Motorsports ROCKSTAR/Makita/A.R.T. No. 57.
By way of wining the fifth heat race, Stewart put the Finley Farms/Cross Trucking/Lucas Oil Product backed entry into the feature event where he was slated to start from the sixth row on a very slick racing surface.
As the feature event got under way Shane began carving his way through traffic, as he utilized the bottom of the racetrack. Early in the feature, the Pro Bilt Construction/Palmero Properties/Wesmar powered sprinter battled back and forth with Gary Wright for the eighth position.
After he cleared Wright, Shane then began to rip off some very quick laps, as he caught the lead pack and cracked the top five on the 15 lap, when we began to put the pressure on Wayne Johnson, and Jason Johnson.
On the 18th lap, Shane was able to drive past Brian Brown down the back stretch to grab the third spot, before he was able to put the ROCKSTAR/Makita No. 57 on the cushion as he raced around Danny Lasoski to grab the second on the 19th lap.
Over the next five circuits, Lasoski and Shane put on a very entertaining battle for the second position as Lasoski tried to go both high and low to get back around Shane, but the No.57 machine was able to hold the spot, and held on to the second spot.
The Silva Motorsports team will be back in action April 15-16, as the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour invades I-30 Speedway in Little Rock Arkansas.
