Lebanon, Oregon- Willamette Speedway had packed house on Saturday, June 15th. The historic 1/3-mile clay oval hosted a predominantly open wheel-based card featuring the Interstate Sprint Car Series, Northwest Focus Midget Series, Dwarf Cars, and Street Stocks. Fans were treated to some incredible racing by several teams that normally don’t compete at the famed facility.
Junction City’s Shane Forte simply dominated the ISCS main event. The veteran ace blazed the trail the entire distance of the feature to win his third career victory with the series but the first time at Willamette. In the Northwest Focus Midget Series, it was Granite Falls, Washington native Nick Evans taking care of business in the tour’s first visit to the track.
Josh King, of Central Point, got the job in the Dwarf Car ranks to park his mount in victory lane. Meanwhile, in the Street Stock division Justin Evans, from Lebanon and no relation to Nick Evans, managed to put together an incredible performance to win his fifth victory of 2019 and sweep the weekend.
Willamette Speedway will next be in action on Friday and Saturday night. Friday, June 21st, will be a Fast Friday featuring IMCA Sport Mods, Hornets, and Karts. On Saturday, the 22nd, the Super Late Models make their return along with Super Sports, Sportsman, Street Stocks, and Hornets.
