JACKSONVILLE, ILL. (June 14, 2019) – After off-and-on showers plagued round two of Illinois SPEED Week all day on Friday at Jacksonville Speedway, officials made the call to postpone the evening when a 10:00 PM downpour was the final straw. An official announcement on a future rescheduled date will be made as plans are finalized.
Teams were preparing to head out for B-Main action when a final pop-up cell doused the track and facility once more, forcing officials to call the action as curfew inched closer and closer. With small showers and plenty of sprinkles, Mother Nature’s appearance was imminent from the time teams pulled into the pit area, but several holes in the radar and hopeful forecasts gave way to potentially completing Friday’s event, but it just wasn’t meant to be.
Again, a potential rescheduled date of tonight’s rain out at Jacksonville Speedway is in the works and will be announced once finalized.
The sixth annual Illinois SPEED Week carries on tomorrow with a trip to the “Mighty” Macon Speedway, followed by the SPEED Week finale on Sunday, June 16 at Lincoln Speedway.
For fans unable to attend in-person, Speed Shift TV will have you covered with a live pay-per-view broadcast of both nights. Head over to www.speedshifttv.com to order your viewing pass today!
