Cottage Grove, Oregon- It is going to be a jam-packed night of racing at Cottage Grove Speedway this weekend. Two nights are on the docket for the historic ¼-mile facility including Friday, June 14th, and Saturday, the 15th. Friday evening will offer the Fast Friday special where it costs only $5.00 to watch the races while on Saturday is Dad’s Night and all dads get into the races for FREE.

Classes on the card for Friday are the Interstate Sprint Car Series and the Mohawk Metal IMCA Modifieds. Divisions in competition on Saturday include the Wingless Sprint Series, Mohawk Metal IMCA Modifeds, Late Models, IMCA Sport Mods, and Hornets. This will be the first appearances of both the ISCS and WSS tours after earlier appearances for both groups were cancelled due to rain.

Pit Gates open at 1:00 PM, Front Gates 5:00 on Friday and 3:30 on Saturday. Racing is scheduled to get kicked off around 7:00 on Friday and 6:00 on Saturday. As mentioned above the Friday show will offer admission for $5.00 while Children (5 & Under) are FREE. Saturday tickets are $13.00 for Adults, Seniors/Juniors/Military $10.00, Youths (6-12) $5.00, and Children (5 & Under) are FREE. CGS offers a Family Pass (2 Adults and up to 4 Youths) for $35.00, VIP Skybox Seating is $25.00 each, and Pit Passes are $30.00. Despite no Interstate Sprint Car Series races being completed this year there have been three Todd’s Auto Body Sprint Car shows. All three features have produced different winners including Ian Bandey, Tanner Holmes, and Tyler Thompson. Thompson enters 2019 as the defending ISCS champion.

The same of case of parity, when it comes to different drivers to best the field, can be stated in the Mohawk Metal IMCA Modifieds. Collen Winebarger, Jake Mayden, Derrick Young, Eric Ashley, and Kevin Williamson have all visited the winner’s circle. The Late Models have completed two shows this year and both have been action filled. In those two races Paul Culp and Brian Smith both emerged victorious when the checkered flag dropped.

In the IMCA Sport Mods both Jorddon Braaten and Matt Sanders are tied for the most win in the division, at two each. Single race victors include Buddy McHargue and David Schmidt. Finally, in the Hornets Graig Osborne has had a successful track championship defense with the only driver putting together two wins. Joe Maricle and Eric Ashley have the honor of paying a visit to victory lane just once during the current campaign.
