Inside Line Promotions – RANSOMVILLE, N.Y. (June 5, 2019) – Joe Trenca posted his career-best result at Ransomville Speedway last Friday during a Patriot Sprint Tour event.
The Mucci Motorsports competitor placed fourth in both a heat race and the main event.
“We had power steering issues pretty much all night,” he said. “It was just me and my grandpa and one other guy. It went in the first lap of the heat race and we limped around the rest of the race. We pretty much spent the rest of the night trying to get it fixed before the A Main.
“I think we could have been better (in the feature) if we had more time to make adjustments to the car. I got into second the first couple of laps. We had a restart around Lap 15 and two guys got around me. I moved up to the top after that because it was definitely the place to be.”
Trenca’s fourth-place run was his third fourth-place finish in five starts this season.
“It’s nice to run in the top five again, but I think we’re better than a fourth-place car,” he said. “We just had an issue that slowed us down and that’s part of racing.”
Next up for the team is a pair of Ollie’s Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions races on Friday at Outlaw Speedway in Dundee, N.Y., and on Sunday at Weedsport Speedway in Weedsport, N.Y. It will be Trenca’s first 410ci winged sprint car starts of the season.
“Outlaw is my favorite track and to go there for our first 410 race makes me more comfortable and confident,” he said. “I feel like I know the track and how hard you can push a car and when you can’t. I think our success in the 360 will help us in the 410.
“Weedsport has been an up-and-down track for us. It’s close to home so it’ll be nice to be able to have some family and friends out there.”
