Inside Line Promotions – HAMLIN, Pa. (June 4, 2019) – Joey Amantea recorded his ninth top 10 of the season last Saturday at Hamlin Speedway.
“Hamlin is really special to me,” he said. “That was the first track I raced at. Everyone there has been nice to me over the years. This year the track owner got a fantastic deal for new clay on the track. He got two loads of dirt the week I won. It was three lanes almost and was really fun. It’s great to see tracks putting in effort.”
Amantea competed in non-wing micro sprint competition during Saturday’s showdown. He maneuvered from seventh to fourth place in a heat race before advancing a position to finish seventh in the main event.
“I was in sixth,” he said. “On the last lap I was passing a guy when he checked up and the guy in seventh passed me on the top so I finished seventh. It was still a fun night though.”
Amantea’s performance gives him a top 10 during all four races at Hamlin Speedway this season.
Amantea will continue non-wing micro sprint action during a trio of races this weekend. He will return to Linda’s Speedway in Jonestown, Pa., on Friday before hitting up Hamlin Speedway on Saturday. The Sunday plan is to venture to Action Track USA in Kutztown, Pa.
He earned a fifth-place result during his most recent race at Linda’s Speedway and has one start this season at Action Track USA.
“We’re looking forward to this weekend and getting back to all three tracks,” he said. “Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we can get all three nights in.”
