POWRi Micros Ready for Southern Illinois Shootout at Belle-Clair & SIR

BELLEVILLE, ILL. (May 15, 2019) – With the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League on the sidelines, the POWRi Engler Machine & Tool Outlaw Micro League takes centerstage this weekend. Set for the “Southern Illinois Shootout,” the POWRi Micros will encounter a pair of exciting bullrings with a doubleheader at Belle-Clair Speedway on Friday, May 17 and Southern Illinois Raceway on Saturday, May 18 on tap.

Making back-to-back trips to “Belle-Vegas,” the POWRi Micros return to the Belleville, Illinois facility on Friday following a visit to the 1/5th-mile from last Friday. Clinton, Illinois native Aiden Purdue topped a stout 43-car field in last Friday’s race at Belle-Clair, earning his first-career POWRi Engler Machine & Tool Outlaw Micro League over Joe B. Miller, Gunner Ramey, Austin Schaeffer and Chase Porter.

Heading to Southern Illinois Raceway on Saturday night, the POWRi Micros will make their first of two appearances at SIR in 2019 with an October 12 date also on the schedule. Oklahoma’s Harley Hollan, the defending POWRi Engler Machine & Tool Outlaw Micro League champion, won the last trip to SIR in last October ahead of Jake Palmisano, Holley Hollan, Riley Goodno and Willie Urish.

With a strong resume from the “Turnpike Challenge” and a runner-up score last week, Millersville, Missouri’s Joe B. Miller has found himself in the early-season points lead. Sedalia, Missouri teenage Gunner Ramey closely follows with only a 10-point gap separating the “Show-Me State” natives. Rounding out the top five in points at the moment is Kaylee Bryson (-120), Brady Bacon (-170) and Riley Goodno (-220).
