Fallen Hero 50 on tap for Red Dirt Raceway Friday
Go Karts to run inaugural short track event Saturday
By John Rittenoure, MEEKER, Okla. (May 13, 2019) - Sooner Limited Modifieds take center stage for the Fallen Hero 50 presented by Patriot Dodge Friday at Red Dirt Raceway.
Jared Blaird won the 50-lap event last year and will be looking to repeat, but he will have tough field of competitors to wade through if he is to win again. Hesston Shaw won the last Sooner show at 81 Speedway to take over the points lead and will be a top contender along with second place Jeffrey Kaup, two time series winner Robert Elliott and fourth in points, Todd Decker.
In addition to the Sooner Limited Modifieds, Pure Stocks, Hornets and 600cc Non-Wing Micros will be racing.
On Saturday go karts will be racing in their inaugural event on the new Red Dirt Raceway short track. Gates for the karts will open at 9 with racing at 11 a.m.
Friday, General admission is $15. High school students and younger are FREE (must how student ID) along with all Military, Police, Fire, and EMS with valid ID. Tailgate area is $60 per carload (everyone must be in the vehicle and only ONE ice chest period vehicle). Pit passes are $30 (5 years and younger are only $10.
Red Dirt Raceway is located on state highway 18 between Chandler and Shawnee. Exit I-44 at Chandler and follow highway 18 south. From I-40 take the highway 18 exit and head north through Meeker.
