Inside Line Promotions – HAMLIN, Pa. (May 7, 2019) – Joey Amantea produced his fourth top-10 finish of the season last Saturday during the Hamlin Speedway season opener.
It was the lone race of the weekend for Amantea, who was rained out on Friday following hot laps at Linda’s Speedway in Jonestown, Pa., and on Sunday at Spirit Auto Center Speedway in Swedesboro, N.J.
“At least we got to do some racing,” he said.
Amantea opened Saturday’s show by qualifying ninth quickest.
“We did time trials and I caught up to a guy and was stuck so I time trialed ninth,” he said. “Hamlin is so narrow that when it’s one lane it’s really hard to pass. Nobody did much passing throughout the entire field in the feature.”
Amantea started ninth and finished eighth on the tricky track.
The team has a busy four-race slate on tap this week beginning with Amantea making his debut at Shellhammers Speedway in Shoemakersville, Pa., on Wednesday. He will then race on Friday at Linda’s Speedway; on Saturday at Greenwood Valley Action Tracks at Orangeville, Pa.; and on Sunday at Action Track USA in Kutztown, Pa.
“I’m hoping the weather can be nice this week so we can get a few races in,” he said. “We’ve already lost a lot of races to rain this year.”
