USAC WESTERN STATES TO BE REPRESENTED AT AUTORAMA

SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA (February 9, 2011) – USAC Western States will team up with Calistoga Speedway and the Golden State King of the West Sprint Car Series for a motorsports-themed booth at the 61st Sacramento Autorama at Cal Expo this weekend. The display will be located in building C at the popular classic car event.

Race fans who visit the USAC Western States booth will have the opportunity to win tickets to either the USAC Western Classic Racing Series opener at Chico on March 11 or the “Louie Vermeil Classic” at Calistoga Speedway on Labor Day weekend. Both races will feature USAC Sprints and Midgets in action, with the Chico event recently named the “John Padjen Classic” in honor of the well-respected motorsports promoter.

Saturday night, from 6 – 9 p.m. race fans will have the opportunity to meet with and get autographs from 2010 USAC Western Sprint Car Series champion Tony Hunt. On Friday night, the King of the West will have its young stars Kyle Larson and Zach Zimmerly available for autographs.

The interactive racing display will include televisions playing racing highlights, the King of the West showcar, the Walt Ross #56 vintage Sprint Car, and the Metal Works-sponsored #56 pavement Sprint Car driven by Tony Hunt to the championship in 2010.

Complete 2011 racing schedules for all the USAC Western States divisions will be available as well as an informational brochure outlining the new USAC Western Classic Racing Series “A Tribute to NARC”.

Potential Competitors who are planning to attend the Autorama are encouraged to visit the USAC Western States booth to talk with series officials and learn more about the series.

The USAC Western Classic Racing Series kicks off its 16 race slate on March 11 with the “John Padjen Classic” at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, Calif. The race is part of the prestigious “Mini Gold Cup” weekend with USAC/BCRA Midgets also on the Friday night card, and the World of Outlaws slated to race on Saturday night.

The Autorama is one of California’s oldest and largest car shows with more than 450 classic cars taking over the California State Fairgrounds for three days. The show runs Friday through Sunday

Race fans can order their tickets in advance now for the “John Padjen Classic” on March 11 by calling (530) 350-7275. All pre-orders will include a commemorative West Capitol Raceway general admission ticket from 31 years ago while supplies last. This rare souvenir is only available in limited quantities so fans are encouraged to order tickets now.
