Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (April 22, 2019) – Kerry Madsen executed a last-lap pass to secure a podium finish for Big Game Motorsports last Saturday during the season-opening event at Knoxville Raceway.

The KI Crossbows sponsored team got off to a strong start as Madsen qualified fourth quickest around the half-mile oval.

“We were a little more efficient at the start of the night than the Outlaws show (the previous weekend),” he said. “We definitely made some progress there.”

Madsen then maneuvered from sixth to third place in a heat race. That lined him up on the inside of the third row for the A Main.

“It went pretty smooth,” he said. “I got an okay start and then passed a couple of cars. At the end I moved up a line I found in the middle in turns three and four. On the last lap I ran the bottom out of turn two and made the move down the back straightaway to take third.

“Overall I was pretty happy with the night, being the second night out and first night at Knoxville. We’re happy that it went smoothly and we got another night in so we have more to work off.”

Big Game Motorsports will join the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink this weekend for a tripleheader with races on Friday at Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Mo.; on Saturday at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Mo.; and on Sunday at Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Ill.

“We want to run well,” Madsen said. “It’s hard to quantify it on exact numbers, but if we can be fast and run well and a have reasonable finish in the A Mains that’s a good night.”

Madsen placed third last year at Lake Ozark Speedway with the Outlaws and he won a World of Outlaws race at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in 2014. His best outing at Jacksonville Speedway was a sixth-place run in 2014.
