Cherry St. Mini Storage Leads Long List of Returning Supporters in 2011

CHICO, CA (01-17-11)...Silver Dollar Speedway is pleased to welcome back numerous marketing partners who have been involved with the speedway for the last few years. “We are looking forward to working with the existing sponsors as well as bringing in new business' to help promote them through our wonderful fan base at the speedway,” said new Promoter Dennis Gage of Gage Motorsports. A wide range of sponsor packages will be available this year at the Silver Dollar Speedway. Ukiah, CA based Cherry St. Mini Storage is one of the existing sponsors of the speedway happy to be back. “Our hearts have always been with this speedway. We love Chico, we love the racing and enjoy the time we spend every Friday night in the stands watching these great drivers,” said Mike McCann, owner of the Mini Storage along with his wife Carol. “Mike and Carol are the prime example of what great supporters we have at the speedway. Driving three hours every Friday to get to the track, staying in a hotel after the races and then driving back to Ukiah on Saturday shows the love they have for this track and community,” said track announcer Troy Hennig. Cherry St. Mini Storage will be involved with two nights this year. The first on July 29 and the final Friday night of the year August 26.
Chico, CA based Care Free Pools is eager to once again help the speedway. Bill and Jeanne Bell have sponsored nights in the past and will continue to do so this season. “We love this place and always try to help in any way to help promote the racing at Silver Dollar Speedway,” said Bill Bell on the phone this afternoon They also field a sprint car driven by their grandson Brett Miller. Over the past three years the family has helped raise money for the Butte Humane Society. Because of their hard work and dedication this past year they had given over $10,000 in money raised with help from the speedway, drivers, fans and sponsors. Silver Dollar Speedway wants to congratulate the Bell's on doing such good work in out community. Care Free Pools night has been set for May 20.
Mark Abouzeid might be known as “boss” to his employees at the family owned and operated Chico Volkswagen, however, at the speedway he is referred to as “The Rocket Man.” Abouzeid races in the dirt modified division and is one of the top performers on the quarter-mile clay oval track. He and his wife Amy have also been supporters of sponsor nights at the Speedway. Once again they look forward to having Chico Volkswagen night on June 17 of this season. “I had a great relationship with Alan and we are looking forward to working with Dennis this year,” said Abouzeid. “Dennis was the announcer when I first started racing at Silver Dollar Speedway so I am glad that we already have a history with each other.”
Mancamp Motorsports and the Mootz family look to continue their support of the Friday night race before the Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial. That Friday night show is held on May 6. Seven-time Chico track champion Shane Scott once again confirmed today to be a sponsor for what will now be the 4th Annual Bill Brownell Memorial. That special race is scheduled for April 22.
Other returning business' who are set to return but have not secured a sponsor night date will include Moore Insurance Service's, JP's Paint and Body Works, Withrows Motorsports, Miller Glass, and Chico Mobile AC and Auto Repair.
Racing at the historic Silver Dollar Speedway is set to began Friday night, March 11 and 12, with the annual running of the Mini Gold Cup. Friday night Mini-Gold Cup tickets will be general admission. Saturday night World of Outlaw tickets are now on sale and can be obtained by calling 877-395-8606 or at dirtcar.ticketforce.com. Camping or Gold Cup tickets are available at the Speedway office at 530-350-7275 or information can be obtained at the track website www.silverdollarspeedway.com.
