Change of Plans Sets Up Big Weekend for Bacon

Lonnie Wheatley, WINCHESTER, Ind. (April 4, 2019) – Weather watching is an activity all racers partake in to some extent, particularly in the spring portion of the season.

Original plans had called for Brady Bacon to venture eastward to Central Pennsylvania’s Williams Grove Speedway for Friday night’s season-opening USAC East Coast 360-ci Sprint Car event.

However, ominous weather forced a change of plans that now includes four events over three nights at Kokomo, Lawrenceburg and Waynesfield.

“We love racing in Central Pennsylvania every chance that we get and were really looking forward to going over there this weekend,” Bacon commented. “But with the weather forecast looking as bad as it has all week, it just makes more sense to get some races in close to home.”

Bacon will kick off the weekend in non-wing Sprint Car action at Indiana’s Kokomo Speedway on Friday night before another night of traditional Sprint Car racing at Lawrenceburg Speedway on Saturday night. Bacon will sprout wings for Sunday pulling double duty at Ohio’s Waynesfield Raceway Park in FAST 410-ci competition and NRA 360-ci action.

“We’ve had success at each of these tracks in the past, so hopefully we can add to that over the weekend,” Bacon commented.

Bacon has finished among the top five in his last four Sprint Car starts at Kokomo and has been on the podium in his last four Lawrenceburg starts including a win last June. Bacon found victory lane at Waynesfield last year as well by picking up an NRA win on May 27.

With a Micro Sprint win to his credit already this season, Bacon will be looking for his first Sprint Car wins of the season this weekend.
