Inside Line Promotions – PLACERVILLE, Calif. (March 25, 2019) – This weekend will be the final one as a two-car team for Sides Motorsports for a few weeks.

Jason Sides and Tim Kaeding will both compete for the team on Friday at Keller Auto Speedway in Hanford, Calif., but only Sides will race on Saturday at Perris Auto Speedway in Perris, Calif., during the SoCal Showdown with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series.

“It’s a lot of work doing two cars, but being able to bounce ideas off each other has helped,” Sides said. “I’ve also learned some from his advice on how to run some of the tracks out here.”

Kaeding claimed a World of Outlaws event at Keller Auto Speedway in 2003. Sides recorded his career-best result at the track during his most recent visit in 2017 when he charged from 23rd to a sixth-place finish.

“It’s been a decent track for both of us,” Sides said. “They changed the track a bit. I’ve been told it makes it like a dogleg on the backstretch so it makes running the top that much further around. In the back of your mind you know you ran good the last time you were there so that’s a positive. You start where you ended that night from your notes and hope you’re on the right path.”

Sides also scored his career-best performance at Perris Auto Speedway during his last race in 2017. His eighth-place run also marked his third straight top 10 at the half-mile oval.

“More than likely it’ll be a twin heat race format for a lack of cars,” he said. “Qualifying is important as always. If you get on the front row of a heat you can get yourself in the dash and that much further ahead for the remainder of the night.”

World of Outlaws races last Friday at Ocean Speedway in Watsonville, Calif., and Saturday at Placerville Speedway in Placerville, Calif., rained out.
