Inside Line Promotions – SPRINGVILLE, Calif. (March 25, 2019) – A wet week gave Mason Daniel an opportunity to check on his race shop after last weekend’s World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series races rained out.

The Californian relocated his team to Missouri last year and with the recent severe weather in the Midwest he elected to take advantage of the off-weekend.

“I flew back to Missouri,” he said. “With all of the flooding we were worried about the shop. The Missouri River is probably 10 miles from my house. The levees are completely full. Luckily nothing came near the shop.”

Daniel will wrap up the West Coast Swing this weekend with visits to Keller Auto Speedway in Hanford, Calif., on Friday and Perris Auto Speedway in Perris, Calif., on Saturday during the SoCal Showdown. It will mark his debut at both tracks.

“Ever since I started racing micros I’ve watched sprint car races in Hanford,” he said. “I’m excited to get to these tracks. Both seem like fast and wide tracks. I haven’t seen any racing at Hanford since they changed it up. I know they ran a race earlier this year as part of a winter series. Talking to some drivers they said it was rough. We know the promoter so we called and he said he’s been working the track to get it smooth.

“I think I’d compare Perris to I-80 Speedway (in Greenwood, Neb.) just looking at it on videos. They seem similar other than I-80 has more banking.”

This weekend also starts to close out Daniel’s time on tour with the Outlaws. He is scheduled to compete with ‘The Greatest Show on Dirt’ this weekend in California and the following weekend in Arizona before heading toward the middle of the country. The team will look at the weather to determine whether to race with the Outlaws in Texas on April 12-13 or to tackle the season opener at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, on April 13.

“Whichever place shows rain we’ll go to the opposite track,” he said. “If both look like good weather we’ll go to Texas.”
